It would be easy to pretend this still isn’t an issue in our schools and I’m a strong believer that books are one of our greatest tools for helping others understand those who are different to them.

My suggestion would be to get VERY close to the GB and try and disable the boom gun up close and then deal with the secondary weapons in turn.A lot of hope was placed on the Boom gun because it was also meant for the next generation of tank-busting aircraft, for the USA's next generation main battle tank and the US Navy's next medium calibur deck gun.

I recommend that all schools should be reading Glitter Boy in class, and I’m going to suggest it to my own teacher. Over a five-month period, he photographed a handful of his friends in front of a pink backdrop on the patio of his dorm room at The New School in New York City. What I love about this, is that it highlights how someone so bright and bubbly can be dragged down due to such an internal struggle when they feel like they have no support. I’m really proud of myself that, firstly, I made it through without any embarrassing mishaps and that, secondly, I got to talk about issues that are important to me. Johnson; and he sings in the choir, which is preparing a surprise song for Mr Hamilton's wedding, but the bullying is mounting and everything comes to a head.

It shows from the offset how someone outgoing and bubbly can be dragged down by bullying, causing low self-esteem, to make someone feel they have no support, therefore pushing those they love away too. Many a Dark Age tale tells of a worthy hero being given a Glitter Boy by a king or aging Glitter Boy champion, as well as stories of bands of worthy heroes occasionally finding a treasure trove of Glitter Boys they could man to battle evil. No child should ever feel like they have to hide their identity from anyone and the knowledge that some children do, is heartbreaking. It has the same Boom Gun as the G-10, but also carries additional armaments in the form of a small laser, missiles, and a vibro-blade. What I like most about this book is that it is brave in meeting the challenge of confronting homophobia head on.

As a teacher there were lots of funny titbits about teaching, like the uncanny ability of deciphering which jumper belongs to which child by its smell! The story becomes a powerful, credible, exposition of how boys and men so often police each other’s gender expressions and sexuality and how this risks strangling a child’s sense of self. Since this entire scenario revolves around a single attacker (or 1-4) against one GB, I'll try to stay focused on just that.Likewise, whether the Glitter Boys were the armor of the Neemans or a gift created by them and given to human champions to carry on in their footsteps is also a mystery lost to myth and legend. I think this book needs to be in every primary classroom and I can not wait to share it with children in my school. The recoil is so forceful that the Glitter Boy must anchor itself in place using two laser-tipped drilling pylons, gripping claws in its feet, and computer-controlled retro-rockets. But James’s father seems uncomfortable about the plan, and a lot of other things – like any mention of Mr Hamilton, and James’s dancing, and how James talks about his new friend Joel.
